The Most Important Things– or so you thought

Image

I often wonder what people are thinking when they do the things they do, I see, read, view things on the interwebs that are very disturbing to me as a human being. The men and now it seems women who are pedophiles, who leave toddlers in extreme weather, who abuse them emotionally, physically , I literally have no use for these wastes of oxygen. I realize that the mind is sometimes to blame, and then I say to myself,”No.. that’s not an excuse”,

I look at 4th world countries, (yes its worse than a 3rd world country) and there is only one, ok maybe two; North Korea is at the top of the list, followed closely by those countries whose religions promote Peace, but yet their hypocrisy develops them in to terrorist nations.

I am extremely fortunate, greatly appreciative of the country I was born and live in. I cannot fathom the idea of providing a life for my family with what a great portion of these 4th world countries deem as a livable income, or livelihood. I can’t imagine waking up every morning, strapping on my AR-15, gathering a few meager rations and heading out to tend my crops, my flock, my herds, my whatever and yet these people do it everyday and think nothing of it.

What is important to me and you is entirely different than the horrors these people face everyday. What are we as nation doing?, we read about it on the net, tweet our dissatisfaction of it in social media, blog about it as I’m doing here, but what is the WORLD doing about it. Can’t we all just live our lives the way God intended, at peace with our selves and others our lives touch each and every day?

These are the things that confound my brain, it’s why I can’t sleep at night, it is very troubling to me, and I feel as if I am helpless in finding ways to save the people who need saving. The inhabitants of a dictatorship (NK) who are executed for not adhering to the “Dear Leaders” whims is a travesty. The peasants in the Middle East who are constantly watching the sky for the death that falls from it in the form of anti personnel rockets, IEDs, mines and the list is endless. I stand with Israel. Do you? I means it’s ok if you don’t, I just can’t see why you wouldn’t. Please explain your racist, bigotry to me so that I can understand your plight while you sit at the coffee bar with your IPad endlessly searching the web for cats that make you laugh.

What’s important to me?,, My family is always first, my beautiful wife and my equally beautiful boys, my parents, my extended family, my dearest friends, my faith in God, my employer and the ability to be able to work an honest job (for what I deem is a meager wage given my talent and skills) but a job nonetheless. I would rather dig a ditch for 9 bucks an hour than stand in a Welfare line, use Food Stamps or any other government assistance. My parents survived the Great Depression and did just fine. I believe we can do the same, but we have to have faith as a Nation and as a family. What is most important in your life?.. Think about it and get back to me in the comments, love to know your thoughts, comments, ideas, suggestions.

The Hardest Part about being a Father

Ok, so here’s the deal. I’m a late bloomer dad, that is to say my wife and I didn’t have our first son until I was 49 years old.. I know, I know you’re saying to yourself.. “Dude……”.. yeah well, we tried for 10 years until God blessed us with 5, then 15monthold was “SURPRISE!!!!!!”.. funny story behind that, but I digress.

One of the hardest things I’ve had with in being a dad is that I see myself in my son, I know what I did at that age, and I don’t want him to make the same mistakes, and it comes off as I’m being mean to him. honestly I don’t want that to happen, I want a better relationship with my son, that I have with my dad. Oh we talk about the weather and health issues, but we don’t connect with each other the way I see other Dad’s do with their sons.. I want my son to WANT to hang out with me, go to Home Depot, Autozone, Hockey/Baseball games.

But everytime I come home and I found out he’s doing things I’ve told him a bazillion times not to do, he continues to do them.  Attention getter.. yeah youbetcha, but it pisses me off and I yell.. I don’t want to yell anymore.  I have to try and be more like the Dad I wanted my Dad to be, sure my Dad loves me, I know that and I tell ya, I respect my parents now more than ever for all the shit that I did when I was a kid.

Don’t get me wrong, I was born in a different era where we dared not talk back, we said “yes sir, no sir, yes ma’am no ma’am”, we got spanked when we did wrong and honestly I thank my folks for that, it taught me respect for elders and I have to convey that respect to my sons, only without the corporal punishment. Whether or not you agree is none of my concern, but I have to find the balance that will allow me to do that and teach them that not only is respect deserved, its also earned.

The Post about Posting

Ok, so I had to delete my other WP blog because of my stupid not so smart phone refusing to use my access codes.. sometimes I hate technology, other times I embrace it, like a warm snuggy, but today I would rather just open the window and scream at the top of my lungs SCIENCE!!.. ok, so here’s the deal..

I post about nonsensical stuff, whatever pops into my head, I’ve got an opinion, I will be transparent here, I am a Constitutional Conservative, I can trace my family to the Revolutionary War and I am President of the Delaware Crossing Chapter of the Sons Of The American Revolution.. I don’t care about Kim Kardashian, Kanye, Biebs or any other pretentious celebrity.

I care about family, how it relates to other families, sports, chocolate, creating good food to eat, hot rods, harleys, tattoos ( have several) and anything else that strikes my fancy.  My family is scattered in all parts of the USA and in Kansas City.  I follow comedians, politics and sports figures on the Twitter, don’t have IG or Vine, but enjoy laughing at them when they come across my TL. If I am speaking in a language you don’t understand, sorry, 26 years of Radio has pushed my intellect to its brink. I am as articulate as the next shmoe but sometimes I don’t say exactly what I mean or think and that’s what this blog is about. It lets me be creative, vent and form opinions without hurting my brain.

I have close friends who never call me anymore.. why?.. you know who you are,, get on it.. “Why don’t you call them” you might ask?.. good question I’ll get on it..

Follow me on twitter, fb, linkedin, G+ if you care to, if not, no worries.

I’ll type words at you later
